Now to me it just seems like the whole "don't blame me" mentality if he were to do this just with the intention that he would be President in 2012. I think there may be some validity to this opinion, but seems lacking in integrity if he did it just to basically say "Told you so."

I think one of them needs to drop out now/soon for the good of the party unless they really plan to run on a joint ticket.

McCain won't live till 2012.

Even more reason he better not pick Pawlenty for his running mate.

I think the piece is a huge speculation, on par with my "prediction" of how long McCain will live.

I think those on the right will say "Fuck no! Stay in and work with Hillary to destroy your party lol!" And those on the left will hope that the one they prefer stays and the other drops.

Oh well it's a blog. I don't think there is any factual basis to it and of course all results are highly speculative.

I just thought the idea of it was kind of interesting.

You mean in regards to how Obama might be looking at it?

A little. But also how someone would think a move like dropping out just to say "See, you shoulda kept me in" 4 years later is what he should do.

I'm having so many different ideas running through my head that I'm having a hard time saying it so here they are in random, incoherent style.

The blogger mentions something about how if Obama really wants to fix Washington, he should step aside. But the continues on about how he should do that so he'll win 4 years from now because Hillary would lose. Well, isn't that just playing politics?

Also, the suggestion of it to me is just like the "Don't blame me, I voted Ron Paul" idea.
The idea that Obama supporters would just rally with that idea, and that the blogger even suggests taht it would be a positive lacks integrity to me.

Oh hell yeah, it's absolutely about doing what "might win" without so much as a passing glance at integrity.

Yeah, I'm actually quite sick of blogs being portrayed as newsworthy.

Well if you turn on CNN or anything else it's the same senseless speculation.

Obama is certainly no messiah, but I agree he has a way of words and could manipulate everyone by playing the whole "sacrafice" for the Democratic party. He won't do that, though. As that is too risky, and kind kind of stupid since he is so close now. He is in it for himself and will stay in it until the end, most likely winning the Democratic Nomination. The "don't blame me" card is meant if there is a drastic differences in policies from what is happening and what your policies are. And if your policies would theoretically help out more, then it can be used. So if McCain is elected in this election and uses the same Bush policies again and the economy continues to collapse it can be used by the whole Democratic party, for is there any real differences in their policies. Not by a lot.

I say this every time I watch the news... But I'm thinking oh Hillary since she is behind as the one to drop.

Okay, well I should say that I'm sick of editorial viewpoints being taken as "news."

Yeah, and where does the "don't blame me" policy get you? and theoretically help out more according to whose ideologies?

You may think that the libertarian ideology is better than say the Democratic one, but just because that is your conviction doesn't make it so.

There are some people that agree with socialized medicine, or hell, even communism in general. So if Ron Paul was President, they would say "Don't blame me, I voted for Stalin." It's a completely irrelevant point either way.
