As for a one world gocernment, I do think it is inevitable I just dont know what form. ANd it depends on how you look at it. In some forms we are there, in some forms we arent even close. And I cant really comment on ether I like it or not. I dont think having a one world government is necesarily a bad or good thing, positive or negative, it comes down to how its handled. ANd knowing humans, my hopes arent too high.

The more I think about this, the more I'm sure that it is. I don't have time to post all of my thoughts on the subject right now but I'd like to start the discussion to hear any of your own thoughts.
In a word, no.

Not unless someone looked at what was recorded though. So then, you'd be looking.

It's inevitable and it really NEEDS to be done eventually. That said, I don't think we're ready for it. Democracy in its present form is adequate for now but there will need to be some serious upgrades before operating on a global scale.
So ya, it'll happen, but it'll be really shitty for a while.

So you want this to happen. Do you enjoy monopolies on the economic level too?

Seriously it will never happen, not unless it is by conquest and is an Empire.

Nah with the current trend of things I do see it happening, I highly doubt it will happen in our lifetime, though. With the ammount of communication we have with the poor countries in Africa, for example, the government spends our tax dollars to try to rebuild and help them. So if our tax dollars are going to and helping the poor around the world do we expect things from people around the world too? Yeah, they have to follow UN regulations etc. Yeah, the UN is kind of a joke right now but the idea is still there. That everyone must follow certain humanitarian guidelines etc... It's because now we are linked so closely, people actually are perfectly fine with money being taken away from them and given to a program helping poor people around the world. And, take GCD for example, if it's portrayed in a manner that it will "stop all wars" and lead to world peace, a world without borders etc...I think a lot of people would be for it. But to prevent the people being against it I doubt it would be held in the public at first.
I just think it's pretty obvious, to me. But i'm never going to be able to point and say "I told you so".

A worldwide depression would lead us quicker to an official world governing body...

True. And I don't think there would even be that much resistence. I'm actually doing a paper on this and can only find books that are in support of one world government. I guess I'll use these as examples of why it is plausible and I'll have to object to their short sightedness. Know of any books / papers that object to these measures?

They would be looking at a recorded version of it in the future, but it would have happened when no one was looking. :)
