Hmm, nope.
You don't have a right to healthcare, especially not "free" healthcare.

heh, that is funny though.
I'm tempted to make a case for it being dead on and not oversimplified just like the Bar Stool Economics joke. But, I understand it's just a joke.

Oh nope, it's oversimplified and untrue.

See, this one is funny because it's true.

That's actually incorrect.
It's quite oversimplified and blatantly untrue.

Both people on the comic are the stereotical republican and democrat. That may be the actual joke.

It's kinda funny that you guys are debating the legitimacy of a political cartoon. The whole point is to ignore or trivialize the other side of a discussion.
Either you agree with the point its making or you don't.

I was simply doing a throwback to the barstool economics thread.

I get enough in grants alone to pay for tuition, books and a bit extra.

Did you pay $2000+ a unit? If not, then the extra money was picked up by the state. You really think $5-300 a unit(depending on the institution) covers the cost of all the employees and facilities?

On another note...
The comic is blatantly wrong. The majority of the services they refer to are paid for by property taxes. The poor don't tend to pay many property taxes. To say that you stole your education from the mouths of the poor is a fairly rediculous claim meant to agitate people.
I agree with socialized medicine to a certain extent. I don't really agree with the writer's assessment though.
