Based on everything I'm seeing, THEY'RE RIGHT!
YAY!!!!
Looks like they'll probably pick up another senate seat or 2 as well. It's starting to look like webb is done, though.

Tennessee is gonna go republican. Montana will PROBABLY go democrat. Webb's gonna need a miracle to pull this one out of his ass...
Democrats are gonna end up with 49 seats in the senate, imo.

well Webb is having a last minute surge- 98% in and it has now gone to 7000 votes according to CNN.
This one is going to be a recount

Ya, but recounts just mean that it takes an extra 2 weeks to declare a winner. If it isn't within 100 votes, a recount probably wont mean a thing besides being an annoyance...

Well it depends on how much further it goes- 2.3million votes, I am sure lawyers will be crawling over loads and disqualifying them for stupid ideas- plus I doubt postal votes have been tabulated yet

Oh WOW!
If Montana can hold out it's democratic lead then its going to be 50-50.
That doesn't give the dems a majority, seeing as the VP will always side with the GOP, but now one moderate republican can swing the vote.

but thats the point- it isn't 50-50
it would give the democrats 49 and the republicans 47- plus independents- when you consider one is allied to the democrats and the other is Joe Lieberman then the democrats have the defacto majority of 51

But a lot of Democrats are Republicans wearing blue.

well there was the one indep, who wasn't up this year, there was Lieberman, and some bloke from Vermont sitting on 65% with 80% counting.
Also some distance is being put between the democrats and republicans in Montana- now sitting at 14% after 20% counted

MA Governorship went from a Repub to a Dem (no surprise there)
Only Senate seat up for election stayed with the douchebag murderer Kennedy
havent paid any attention to Reps though

The democrats believe they have gained 18.
The republicans have gained no new seats

Also, there's still a slight possibility that Missouri could flip Democrat. I doubt it, but it's not outside the realm of possibility. The gap HAS been closing...

I've just looked into the breakdown of the Virginia vote-
all but two counties have counted 100%- the remaining two, Allen has a huge majority- one of them Charlottesville (11% to go) and also Arlington (2% to go- though a much bigger district, predominatly democratic)

Missouri could definately happen- and guess what, they haven't counted St. Louis yet which is obviously going to be a huge democrat hub
and Montana is holding strong after a quarter gone

Ya, the montana gap is widening while the missouri gap is shrinking. I think it's somewhat unlikely that either of these will flip at this point, but Missouri just MIGHT. It'll be pretty close by the end...
