Arm everyone as they board the plane. Don't force them to give up their laptops, ipods, water, and other crap. Give them a loaded pistol, a pat on the back and wish them well.

Ok, I actually thought of some thing. Why don't the just release gas into the cabin and put all the passengers to sleep? It would be perfect! That way the long flight would go by like it was nothing and everyone would be incapacitated.

Man, I gotta phone up the prez...

I'm sure if I flew all the time I'd dig that. But I don't and so I'd really like to be able to enjoy the view. And if I saw someone mixing their hair gel. soda and water I could pistol whip them.

Explosive decompression seems to be a myth mostly. But also it would be part of the deterrent. The oxygen would still be fleeing from the cabin, you can't exactly wander around so easily like that. Meanwhile the pilots only have to stay in their seats.

They couldn't be hair triggers though, what with turbulence and all that.

Man, if you incapacitated the passengers they wouldn't need carry on bags either. That would make it a lot harder to smuggle bombs on if you are only allowed to bring yourself on board. I'm telling you, gas them all!!!

Trains are relaxing. They just don't cross the Atlantic or Pacific. For that matter I don't think I could even take the train to South America.

plus they are slow....but they are generally more comfortable than planes...ugh.

you know whats fucking retarded? the so called "high speed" acela line from boston-NYC-DC takes 8 hours to go from boston to DC. how long does it take to drive from boston to DC? 8 hours.

i drove from FL to here where i live in 8 1/2 hours

Slow isn't always a problem. I think it's neat watching how the environment changes, even on a short trip you see it change. It's also got the possibility to be a more social voyage than a plane.

How about we start airline segregation? Muslims can take the special planes without pilots, and the non-suicidal people can take the regular airlines. YAY!

My solution is simple and would be 99.9999 percent effective, but most people wouldn't approve. Racial profiling. We know who the enemy is, but being politically correct causes everybody to suffer. I call bullshit.

Agreed. But compared to the threat of Islamic extremists they're few and far between.
