How about:
"To begin by bluster, but afterwards to take fright at the enemy's numbers, shows a supreme lack of intelligence."

or

"He burns his boats and breaks his cooking-pots; like a
shepherd driving a flock of sheep, he drives his men this way and
that, and nothing knows whither he is going."

These are surely more applicable than a bit about baiting the enemy to attack.

As far as your rep comment, I'm not trying to piss you off. You want to argue semantics or put your presuppositions onto other people, that's fine. However when you do that people will respond and if you aren't alright with that you probably shouldn't be in a discussion about politics.

I know I'm not going to convince you I'm right because you are dealing only in absolutes in a way you have chosen to see them and only in that way. You've made that pretty clear here that you accept one way of thinking and anything else is below you or an affront to you especially in regards to the current actions between Israel and Palestine.

Am I really trying to win or are you refusing to read things with an open mind? Why do you suddenly take interest in this bit of politics and turn into a dick when talking about it when in general you have avoided politics in the past? You aren't at all reasonable in any of your posts when trying to refute or rebut what someone has said, you make a purely emotional hubbub while parroting what someone else had said. Sorry you have to hear it from me but it's the truth.

I'm not pissed at you and I'm not trying to piss you off but I sure am trying to engage your mind into active thinking the same as I do in any of these discussions... well for the most part anyways.

Well it depends on if you like the fish. If you do there are more in the lake to seek. If you don't there are other fish in other lakes.

EDIT: Holy shit. I just spent about 10 minutes typing a thoughtful reply and I wasn't logged in, it's freaking gone.

Let me see if I can summarize.

Point taken. I've been tight lipped about politics and I neglected to note that only I would be aware of that.

Suffice it to say that I'm not enlightened enough to navigate your stubborn confidence without allowing my own ego to pull me off course.
So when I think I'm inquiring further into your point, it seems like your reply is more about being right than expanding upon it.

All I know is people are being exterminated, not just killed. Large groups of people are fueled by pure hate and they're making that hate a reality.
Everyone has all the answers and everyone is right, so we bicker internally which only fans the flames. It's frustrating, so perhaps that's why my seemingly sudden interest in politics manifest, dunno.

I'm usually the sentimental hippie with nothing to offer but thoughtful gestures, so I guess I fortified my position in order to stay in the present rather than insist that the only solution lies elsewhere in time and space.

Anyway, thanks for the class act wake up call.

Cheers.

...But Bush aides on Thursday fought the notion that they had exploited their knowledge of the coming British raid to hit Democrats, saying the trigger had been the defeat of Democratic Senator Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut by an anti-war political novice...

...
Snow said Bush first learned in detail about the plot on Friday, and received two detailed briefings on it on Saturday and Sunday, as well as had two conversations about it with British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

But a senior White House official said that the British government had not launched its raid until well after Cheney held a highly unusual conference call with reporters to attack the Democrats as weak against terrorism.
An aide to Lieberman, who would have been one of the first Democrats to hear of the plot because he is the top Democrat on the Senate Homeland Security Committee, said the lawmaker first heard of it late Wednesday....

..."Weeks before September 11th, this is going to play big," said another White House official, who also spoke on condition of not being named, adding that some Democratic candidates won't "look as appealing" under the circumstances.

Undressed, and blessed by tha Lord
Tha power pendulum swings by tha umbilical cord
Shock around tha clock, from noon 'til noon
Men grabbin' they mics, and stuff 'em into tha womb
Terror's tha product ya push
Well I'm a truth addict, oh shit I gotta headrush
Sheep tremble an here come tha votes

Final Product

[Loomis, Dane]

"The media loves the latest tragic suicide
They exploit it, then package it and profit from the people who die
Look at the world, look at the hell, look at the hate that we've made
Look at the final product, a world in slow decay
I'm told that all your seeds are black
I've learned the question in unanswered and opaque

We're witnessing a famine of the innocent
Did they die for religion or the government?
Because if your god won't do, their god will starve you
Look at the world, look at the hell, look at the hate that we've made
Look at the final product, a world in slow decay
I'm told that all your seeds are black
I've learned the question is unanswered and opaque

There are those that believe the world is ending again
That impending armageddon is inevitable and waiting

I've told that all your seas are black
I've learned the question is unanswered and opaque

We live in a time of revolution
We swim the silent seas of sanity gone"

Heh...and I just posted the video in the video thread in the off-topic forum.

Wow, thats disgusting. Using classified information to play partisan politics is just sad.

I mean, isn't it really the political equivilent of insider trading?
