Though what I don't understand, with the Middle East Crisis, and the biggest potential terrorist plot in the western world nearing completion- the Prime Minister- only yesterday- goes on holiday
He's being a bigger idiot than usual

9/11 Attacks (2001)- not an US election year
Madrid Bombings (2003)- not an US election year
Malaysia Bombings (2003)- not an US election year
London Bombings (2005) - not an US election year
so how did you work that one out?

Well, in all fairness your first point was how awesome your intelligence was.
I too am quite amused by your sense of pride...but carry on.
This is your fight.

Ya, I guess I didn't put that the right way. Let me rephrase.... "It's amazing how they unviel some big terrorist plot every time its convenient for this president's administration."
The terror alerts move up and down depending on how much heat is on the whitehouse at that moment.
9/11 happened not long after bush took office. The Osama tape and the last presidential elections. Then just yesterday you have Mr Snow standing in front of a group that was practically laughing at him while he went into the whole 'cut and run from the war on terror' BS again... And suddenly they catch all these 'terrorists' who were gonnna run an imminent attack that the Administration prevented through good intelligence.
At this point, even if it WAS a real threat, I could care less. If someonne blew up 20 planes in the morning and I was scheduled to fly later that night, I'd still go. Fuck the terrorists.

I'd still go too, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't care.
I understand you cynicism in regards to a terrorist plot appearing when it's needed but this is the real deal, they have been large indications out of the British Government in the last few months that something was going on, since April there have been massive raids searching for chemical based weapons.
The British warning system hasn't been lower than severe (4/5) since January, the Home Secretary only said on Monday that Britain is facing the biggest sustained threat since World War II. This truly is the real deal.
And in repsonse to an earlier post, I take great pride in that the British security services were able to detect this plot, in many Countries it would have slipped beneath the radar, but with decades of experience, the British intelligence infrastructure is the best at what it does. This was bigger than 9/11- which the CIA/FBI/NSA couldn't stop.
This is by no means over yet, but MI5, MI6, GCHQ, Scotland Yard, Special Branch and SOCA have prevented the deaths of thousands upon thousands of people, and I am proud they've done that

Biggest sustained threat to Britain since World War II?
Ya, and I once caught a fish thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iiiiiiiiiiissssssssss big.
What about the IRA? They ACTUALLY did damage inside your country. So far the best the arabs have been able to do in your country is get caught and plastered on the news. I don't see how that makes them the biggest sustained threat to britain since world war II.
More likely, saying something like that simply promotes the agenda of the man saying it...

The IRA never planned to blow up a dozen planes- he said threat, not executed actions
and this sort of talk won't promote someone in Britain. And believe it or not, the Home Secretary is an honest man

Sorry, that kinda thinking doesn't work with me. Actions are actions. As things are, they can hardly pull off one out of 2 missions. They may be ambitious, but they're halfway-retarded. Terrorists are like gang members, they talk alot but they can't stand up to anyone of real skill. They're like the kind of people who hold guns sideways when they shoot because they think it looks cool. Assuming you keep atleast a moderate eye on the threat, its hardly a threat at all.
Case and point.
-We had memos warning of 9/11 before it happened, but they didn't do anything because they didn't take the threat seriously.
-Britain foils first attempted train attack because they listened to the intelligence
-madrid is bombed cause they were lax in their security, believing they werent a prime target
-Britain foils ANOTHER attack because they listened to intelligence.
Of course, this all assumes that terrorists aren't just puppets of the major world powers, used to keep the fear of some 'unknown outside force that wants to kill us and everything we hold dear'.
and this sort of talk won't promote someone in Britain.
I wasn't talking about that man getting a promotion. I was talking about promoting an agenda. As for what that agenda is.... I'm not entirely sure.
believe it or not, the Home Secretary is an honest man
There are 3 people on this entire planet that I really trust, and the home secretary for britain isn't one of them. Words from some man I don't know mean nothing to me.

On the current era first, the July bombings last year were greater than anything the IRA ever managed- more than twice so.
Take it from me, John Reid the British Home Secretary is a man you could trust, perhaps the only person in the British Government I'd trust.
so who are your three people?
Didn't your parents ever teach you not to disturb grown-ups?
And once again, laugh it up django. You got nothing.
Halo's Django? That's the second time I've seen you say that. :eek4:

Only in as much as they both seem to think finding things hilarious is somehow a valuable contribution to any discussion.
It's a passive aggressive attempt at invalidation.
It's like if I quoted someone I disagreed with and only offered:
"LOL! I'm glad you think that! LOL!!"
It's useless for anything other than starting fights.
But no, Halo is not django.

Those people would be: Not you, not the British home secretary, and none of your business.
Everyone has an agenda. I trust no one. I make my own decisions when it comes to anything and everything.
