Israel is not fighting for Judaism, many Israelis if not most are not religious they are fighting to survive. The Palastines fight behind religion but their cause is really to remove the Jews..

Well said, Lil Rock N.

if i'm not mistaken, doesn't Lebanon have one of the largest Christian populations in the Middle East?
and yes i think that they went too far when they started bombing within Beirut. they should have kept the bombing and fighting in the south where the Hezbellah terrorists are based

They have gone further than that, they have also destroyed Lebanese Air Bases in the far North of Lebanon as well as around Beirut which is continuing as I write.

What Israel has done here is take the only moderate, non fundamentalist, forward-thinking Country that they border and in a day destroying the last twenty years in rebuilding it's economy and the next twenty years in consolidating it. They have created a nation which will now hate Israel and fall into the hands of fundamentalists who will want nothing more than the destruction of Israel. All Israel has done is create problems for the future for itself.

Though if the time comes when Syria and Iran bet involved would the United States be prepared to intervene and the rest of the Western World.

Let Israel fight it's own fights. Sure the international community can intercede to prevent war but if there is fighting to be done I am sure Israel's military (note I said military) leaders are more than capable. But to provoke someone to war is wrong.

Hopefully not but probably true.

That cannot be further from the truth. People assume that all Palestinians want the fall of Israel and its destruction, obviously you have a whole host of fundamentalists who want that but most Palestinians just want a better standard of live, they are the worst treated people in the Middle East and by that I don't just refer to the Israelis, I refer to the whole region. In Kuwait they are seen as vermin and are discriminated against, as they are in Saudi, the United Arab Emirates and Syria from what I know off. Israel are occupiers, when they go into the West Bank they shoot at anyone and everyone and don't give a toss. There was a case where there was a British journalist in Gaza carrying a white flag and a shirt with "PRESS" stamped over it, though he still took seven shots to the head. Israel have quarantined these people, until Israel left Gaza last year they closed off the coastline, Palestinians were not allowed within two miles of the sea simply for the reasons that Israelis could have it. People assume that Hamas was voted for because of their hatred of Israel, but it was actually because they spend more money on public causes in Palestine than anyone else, they have built half the schools in the West Bank and they also maintain most of its hospitals, they provide more oppertunities for Palestinians than anyone else, though the Western Media is relunctant to report this because it shows Hamas in a good light.

If Iran were to get involved then the US would use that as an excuse to (try) go into Iran and get their "nuclear" capabilities, I wish it was as simple as that, though the US are by numerous treaties obligated to defend Israel if the time comes

Then why did they kidnap the Israeli soldier? They knew that it would start a bloodbath. Great humanitarians

True, my aplogize for a generalization. When I wrote Palestinians I was not refering to the enitire people only the militant groups. Otherwise I stand by my statement.

Another note it is being reported that the rocket that hit Haifa was done by the Iranian Guard units.

Or maybe it was because Israel crossed into Gaza?

I'm not saying they are great humanitarians, but that it would be wrong to be simplistic and just dismiss them as a bunch of fundamentalists with nothing better to do than kill Israelis, they actually want a wealthy, affluent Palestine where there is a high standard of living, and they do care about them.

Yea and Israel built the other schools and maintains the other hospitals with the some $30 million a month that the PA recieved from Israel. Hamas from an objective point of view does do good for the people, alot. But they also still want to wipe out Israel so I find it hard to be overwhelmed by their grass roots movement.

Fox News.

Do they say on what basis they think that?? All other media outlets still say Hezbollah- though that would explain why they deny it.

If so then we're fucked
